Austest Laboratories testing facilities can be made available for preparation of samples and in-house testing, including use of our pre-conformance open area test sites for EMI emission testing to AS/NZS 2064 (CISPR11), AS/NZS 1044 (CISPR14), AS/NZS 1053 (CISPR 13) & AS/NZS 3548 (CISPR22).

Austest has partnerships with European and North American test houses to provide a truly global service.

Austest-BABT (AB) Certification Services is an ACA appointed Certification Body under subsection 410 of the Telecommunications Act. AB Certification services combines the analogue ACA standards experience of Austest Laboratories and the digital and wireless communications expertise of the UK regulator, BABT (British Approvals Board for Telecommunications), to cover all ACA standards.

To ensure confidence in complying with current ACA standards, Austest-BABT (AB) Certification Services can assess test reports:

•  issued to previous versions of relevant standards and/or International equivalents;

•  where full testing has not been performed;

•  which are not compliant and provide clients with a Certification Statement suitable to claim compliance.

For holders of AUSTEL permits or Telecom authorisations for customer equipment who wish to use the A-Tick mark on their products, the use of a Certification Body provides an economical alternative to full compliance re-testing to today's standards.

Where all information required by the application is supplied, the majority of statements can be issued in 2 weeks or less, providing the assessment finds the item compliant to ACA requirements.

Inspection Services

Austest Laboratories is accredited by NATA as a Competent Body, able to assess Technical Construction Folders (TCF) to determine if they are suitable for declaring compliance with the ACA's Electromagnetic Compatibility regime.

A TCF provides an alternative route to testing to the relevant standard when:

•  it is impractical due to the physical characteristic or location of the product;

•  if the product is marketed as a number of variants; or if

•  a client holds technical information but is unsure of the applicability to the mandatory standard.

With our Certification Body and Competent Body status, Austest Laboratories is the ideal compliance engineering partner for any manufacturer or importer of electrical or electronic goods.
