AUSTEST LABORATORIES is a privately owned INDEPENDENT test house assisiting companies gain access to local and international markets. From it's inception in 1991, Austest has grown to become the most comprehensive compliance test facility in Australia, giving a truly “ONE STOP SHOP” to clients requiring Electrical Safety, EMC and Interworking standards testing.

Austest was originally formed to cater to AUSTEL (telecommunications) based customers requiring NATA conformance test reports to aid permit applications for AUSTEL approval. Austest has since diversified it's scope to include telecommunications related standards for other countries, modification and engineering services on most electrical items and EMC compliance testing to the European EMC directive and ACA (Australian Communications Authority) EMC framework requirements.

Austest is capable of performing NATA endorsed electrical safety testing for Australia/ New Zealand, Europe and International markets on information technology equipment, audio & visual equipment, power transformers, lighting products, various kitchen products including refrigerating appliances, heaters, fans, etc. Other NATA endorsed testing includes plugs, sockets, adaptors, various Elecromagnetic Interference (EMI) tests including AS/NZS3548/ CISPR22/ EN55022/ FCC Part 15, VCCI and telecommunications specific interworking standards testing in house, suitable for Australian and overseas markets. Austest has engineers on staff with extensive experience in design and manufacture of client specific electronic and communications equipment.

Austest operates two NATA accredited EMC test facilities.

The main facility is located at Yarramalong, in beautiful country side on the Central Coast, North of Sydney.
A second laboratory is located in Adelaide with an OATS located a short drive away in the scenic Adelaide Hills.

Both facilities are listed with the FCC for part 15 and 18 testing and are NATA accredited for most Australian and European emissions standards.
Additionally, the facilities can perform testing for harmonics and flicker and most harmonized European immunity standards.

Austest’s EMC staff have many years experience in RF engineering and are well placed to quickly troubleshoot non-compliant products.

Working in harmony with the Electrical Safety and Telecommunication sections of the laboratory our EMC facilities can provide engineering solutions that do not compromise other aspects of the products compliance.
Additionally, the EMC facilities can perform compliance or pre-compliance testing against Civilian Aviation & Military EMC standards.

In many cases large systems can be tested on site to demonstrate compliance with various standards.
